Thank you to Kate for giving me another Thinking Blogger award. All I can say is, “Right back at ya, babe.”
(because, seriously, Kate writes some wonderful thoughtful posts)
There have been a lot of Thinking Blogger awards given out recently and I gave out five before so I’m a little uncertain who has or hasn’t gotten this award yet… but it’s been almost a month and I’ve added a few new blogs to my bloglines since then… so here’s five more Blogs That Make Me Think:
Sheljena at Preparing for Rain. Jena is a frequent commenter on my blog, so right there, you know I like her. LOL But I also like her because she talks about a variety of issues and isn’t afraid to go deep. Specifically I give her the Thinking Blogger award for her post, “Things that are hard to talk about.”
E at Ordinary Time is another blogging mom who covers a range of topics and issues… from attachment to worm bins to Oliver! to ethics, TheCurrySeven has talked about it. My favorite post, and the reason for her award, is from way back in March, Dear Ms. Jolie. I would have loved to see that letter in the LA Times.
I’m giving Laura at Three Times a Mom the award because she is in Vietnam right now adopting her daughter and her thoughtful posts about what she is seeing and feeling are just beautiful. I really appreciated her post on Monday about trying to absorb her daughter’s birth culture.
Paula at Heart, Mind and Seoul writes from a very unique perspective – she’s both a Korean adoptee and an adoptive mother of a son adopted from Korea. Her recent post, On Being Selfish really made me think.
And last but not least, a shameless plug for a new bloggy endeavor I’m involved in: Voices for Vietnam Adoption Integrity (or V-VAI as we like to call it) is a blog created by Vietnam-adoptive parents who have Been There/Done That and hope to help educate other adoptive and prospective adoptive parents on the process and ethics of adopting from Vietnam. I’m excited because it’s a blog dedicated to the kinds of topics I talk about on my soapbox posts. I’m hoping we see a lot of good, lively discussion over there. My first post is called Vietnam is not China and Nicki has a great post On Noids… click on over and let us know what you think.

I found out yesterday, you can adopt from Vietnam (from UK) IF you live in Vietnam for 6 months OR adopt a child with a disability….got me thinking
